From 30 July to 2 August 2026, Teimako and Blessings Organization, in collaboration with Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı (TDV), successfully conducted a cataract surgery outreach programme in Hohoe, Volta Region, Ghana.
The four-day programme provided free cataract surgeries to 200 beneficiaries who were suffering from cataract-related vision problems. The initiative aimed to help vulnerable people regain their sight, independence and quality of life.
Through the generous sponsorship of Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı and the dedicated efforts of Teimako and Blessings Organization, beneficiaries were able to access essential eye care and treatment that might otherwise have been difficult for them to afford.
The high number of people seeking assistance also highlighted the significant need for cataract treatment in the community. Beyond the initial target of 200 beneficiaries, additional patients were supported through the collaboration between the NGO and the medical team.
Teimako and Blessings Organization is grateful to Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı for its continued support and to all medical professionals, volunteers and partners who contributed to the success of the programme.
We remain committed to continuing such humanitarian initiatives and reaching many more people suffering from avoidable blindness and vision impairment across Ghana.
